George Kerr

George Kerr, a distinguished Jamaican athlete, won two bronze medals at the 1960 Rome Olympics, one in the 800m and another as part of the 4x400m relay team. Notably, Jamaica, along with Trinidad and Tobago and Barbados, formed the British West Indies Federation (BWI) at these Games. Kerr’s illustrious career also includes three Pan American Games medals, five Commonwealth Games medals, and three Central American and Caribbean Games medals. Known for his resilience and consistency, Kerr became a trailblazer for Jamaican middle-distance runners. His achievements, both individually and as part of relay teams, solidified his place in the history of Jamaican athletics. Kerr’s legacy continues to be celebrated for his contributions to track and field.
